One of Those Days

I’m having one of those days, well one of those weeks, where I just feel overwhelmed.  I have so much to do at home and at work, and I feel like I’m not getting anything done and I keep making silly mistakes.  For example, I accidentally deleted this whole post before saving it and had to type it all over again.  Thankfully, working out really helps me clear my head.

In fact, when I was three months pregnant, my husband went on a mission trip.  When he got back, he sat down with me and told me that he really felt like he needed to go back to school for a theology degree.  What he would do with it, he didn’t and still doesn’t know, he just know that this is what he needed to do.  I had been thinking about how I wanted to cut my hours down at work and go part-time after I had the baby, so it was clear that was not going to work.  That was ok though, I really enjoy my job.  Funny thing is, before he had ever mentioned going back to school and while he was out of town, I was driving past the local Bible College on my way to a doctor’s appointment.  I looked over at the school, and I just knew that he would be going there soon.  Even though I felt like this was going to happen before he even talked to me, I was overwhelmed when I heard it come out of his mouth.  His salary was the largest part of our income, how could we make this work?  Nothing about it made sense and the timing was horrible, which helped me know that he really needed to do it.  Sounds weird, right?  I decided to wipe the tears from my face (yes, you are more emotional while you are pregnant), and go for a walk and talk to God.  By the time I got back, I had the financial part figured out.  No, it wouldn’t be easy, but that was ok.  He has been back in school for more than a year now, and we are making it.

Even when I feel like I don’t have any time left in the day and I feel like nothing is working out, I have to make time to exercise. Prayer is also very important to me. Without those things, I am sure that I would lose it, and nobody would ever want to be around me!

What helps you when you feel overwhelmed?
